very annoying customer who sent back two of HER food choices. I have been to Marathon when I was a student at Maryland and it was amazing...this time with my son it was underwhelming.ill be back because I sincerely hope it was an aberration.

The best part about my most recent visit to Marathon Deli was the service. The young lady that took my order was friendly and courteous.I have been eating at Marathon for decades...many decades. I'm not sure that the food is as good as it was "back in the day", but it is good. Realy gyro from a donner spit, warm, fresh pita, delicious tzatsiki...I would have preferred more feta, but it was fine.Highly recommended for the service and food...but parking in CP cane be a real pain! Don't forget to pay the meter, or they will get you!

5.99 for fries and 2 tiny mini cups of sauce. More sauce please!

Do not recommend off the late night! I got the gyro platter last night and the gyro was over seasoned and tough. I tried to mask it with the pita but couldn't get past it. I knew the sauce wouldn't even help it! Waste of my money.

Update: Manager Des, reached out almost immediately and was able to find my order and issue a refund. Thank you, Des!Restaurant stole my money. I placed an order online through their company site and had an order number and receipt. When I arrived they said they had no history of the order despite providing my receipt. When I asked for a refund they refused. Reporting to credit card as a fraudulent business.

My experience at the Marathon deli was wonderful. The staff are exceptionally nice. The cashier even gave me two extra sauces? I love the scenery and the food tasted good. the preparation of the food was not rushed and you can tell by how good and seasoned everything was.

Food is DELICIOUS - like actually so good omg - but they're inconsistent with quantities of stuff (especially with seasoning their fries and the amount of marathon sauce they give you). About half the time I've gone, they've forgotten to give us something we ordered, which sucked, so I really recommend checking you've got everything before you walk out.

Saw this place on IG (dccheapeats) who did a great job of getting me excited. Check their reel to see video of it.I went and found the staff delightful. Sweet and helpful but not overboard in any way. Seems like they are all college kids at next door University of Maryland. Got good advice on their best seller (steak and cheese) but grabbed her personal recommendation (falafel sandwich combo). As the pictures will show it was beautiful. It was tasty and flavorful and as a coworker will attest, fragrant as well.While I was waiting I was offered a free funnel cake sample (also shown) and their interpretation alone was worth the trip. I will go back and try more of their sides and other things and I’m sure I’ll be ecstatic.Vibe: clean, fresh college joint with local themes on the wall, I’m guessing it’s a fun place to watch sports or they may run special events.Highly recommend. Will return!Vegetarian options: Falafel sandwich was delicious!

I love the gyros here. I always get there gyro meal whenever I am hungry and can't decide what to eat. You cannot go wrong with there food.

Order ahead of time and Burger and fries were cold. Had to wait to get them Redone. Waiting was an inconvenience as I was on my lunch

Best gyro ever! Been that way since I was an undergraduate in the 80’s. Still as awesome! And the service is amazing!

Looked for a good steak and cheese since Dumm's went out of business and stumbled across here. You need to do the sub combo with sauce on the fries. Well worth the value for the Quality AND Quantity!! Baklava Cheesecake was awesome! Annnnnd the dude at the counter laid out some mad rhymes freestyling.

Marathon is in a convenient location, stays open very late, and is very consistent in quality. Their gyros are great, their fries are very good, and everything else is at least good. It is LOUD in there. It's meant for college kids, for sure.If the gyros and the fries were about a dollar or two cheaper, this would be five stars. The individual pizza is a really good deal.
